Story: Ein Friedensvertrag steht endlich in Aussicht, nachdem Niflheim bereits mehrere Staaten besetzt hat und allein Insomnia als letzte wirklich freie Stadt übrig geblieben ist. Das Imperium gesteht der Königsstadt die bestehende Eigenständigkeit zu, wenn alle Randgebiete unter lucischer Kontrolle an Niflheim abgetreten werden und der lucische Kronprinz Noctis Lucis Caelum mit der Prinzessin von Tenebrea, Lunafreya Nox Fleuret, verheiratet wird. So sind die Bedingungen des Friedens und König Regis Lucis Caelum beschließt, die Hochzeit im besetzten Nachbarsaat Accordo in dessen Hauptstadt Altissia abhalten zu lassen.

So zieht der Prinz in Begleitung seines Leibwächter, Kampftrainers und Freundes Gladio Amicitia, seines strategischen Beraters und Kindheitsfreundes Ignis Scientia, der gleichzeitig auch der Fahrer und Koch der Gruppe ist, sowie seinem bürgerlichen Freund aus der Schule Prompto Argentum los. Ihr Weg soll die vier durch das steppenhafte Leide führen zum Galdin Kai, von wo aus sie per Schiff nach Altissia reisen wollten.

Doch Schiffe legen keine mehr ab und dann erreicht den jungen Prinzen die schreckliche Nachricht. Seine Heimatstadt Insomnia sei eingenommen worden, die schützende Barriere zerstört und der Kristall geraubt. Sein Vater und seine Verlobte, sowie er selbst werden von den Medien für tot erklärt. So muss sich Noctis und sein Gefolge im Regalia auf den Weg machen, die Wahrheit heraus zu finden und sein Schicksal zu erfüllen.

Randanmerkung: Dies ist mein erstes Let's Play Projekt, das ich ursprünglich gestartet hatte, um drei Freundinnen die Möglichkeit zu bieten, die Geschichte mit zu erleben, da sie sich keine Konsole leisten konnten. Die Arbeit an diesem Projekt hat mich dazu gebracht, mehr machen zu wollen.
